Why Hypnotherapy?

I, like many others, turned to Hypnotherapy after I had already tried everything else I could think of.

I meditated.

I did yoga.

I exercised.

I tried stuffing down all the feelings with food…

Well, we all know THAT wasn’t going to work.

I was heavier than I wanted to be. I was stuck in the house with my daughter as she attended virtual school from home. All the regular pandemic stuff…

And then my brother died suddenly.

My eating got worse. I tried to fix it by going on a diet for the first time in 5 years (I know by know that diets don’t work either, but I was in a tailspin). After a few weeks the diet failed me. I assumed that it was my fault (again). I must be doing something wrong. I read more books. I meditated more. I cried to my therapist. Nothing was working before, but now I felt even worse.

Then I found a hypnosis course that advertised that it could help people with emotional eating. I figured that felt like a step in the right direction. At least it wasn’t another diet.

I got the book. I downloaded the audio files. I scrupulously followed the daily plan of self hypnosis 2 times a day, plus listening to an audio recording.

After just one week I felt better. I felt more calm, relaxed, way less stressed out. And you know what?!? The recording and the self hypnosis didn’t even address eating that week. The hypnotic affirmation was simply this:

I am safe. I am calm. I choose to be here.

It worked! I felt so much better. My anxiety was way down. And, as a consequence, my emotional eating was occurring was way less often. My weight slowly started to go down again.

I chose Hypnotherapy because it helped me when nothing else did.

And then, I decided to study it and learn how to become a Hypnotherapist because I love helping people. I only wish I had learned how before my brother passed.

Studies show that hypnosis helps with quitting smoking, IBS, pain relief, and so much more. Hypnosis helps because it speaks to the subconscious mind, the part of your brain that hold onto habits, emotions, and beliefs.

  1. Karla is one to follow. Her spirit is meek and the knowledge that she shares is on a whole different level. In Karla’s classes you learn and retain information about your body and mind that you never thought that you could. You learn to move through life with ease and patience with yourself and others. I have participated in Karla’s classes for many, many years and have always enjoyed each and every one of them. Through the different sessions that I have taken with Karla…it has taught me to be a much better person through and through. I am more relaxed, less judgmental of my physical appearance and I appreciate my life much better now. I have learned to be more positive as I now live my best life. Thank you for that Karla. I would recommend taken any of Karla’s class sessions as she is educated and overall a wonderful instructor.
