Hypnosis Improves Pain and Healing

In hypnosis you access the part of you mind known as the subconscious.

Your subconscious mind houses your beliefs, feelings, memories, habits, and all of your automatic bodily functions from heart rate to cell division.

It is reasonable, then, to assume that hypnosis can heal the body.

Many of you are thinking, “No, stop right there. I can understand how hypnosis can heal the our moods and help us quit bad habits. But I cannot believe that hypnosis is going to change the body. That is just to far fetched for me to wrap my mind around.”

Well, science can help with that mindset.

The above, linked article mentions the results from some small studies that showed that hypnosis helped speed healing of bone fractures, and wounds after breast surgery.

The above study looked at hypnosis for symptom management in breast cancer survivors. It found that the women who were taught self hypnosis had “decreases in pain intensity, fatigue, and sleep problems and (b) that pain intensity continued to decrease from post treatment to 6-month follow-up.”
